Trans-Tasman Resources, the privately-owned ironsands explorer, has appointed former prime minister Jenny Shipley and ex-Tata Steel executive Kirby Adams to its board.

Porter Novelli was the top New Zealand PR agency at this year's PRINZ Awards jointly winning the Supreme Award and Special Event/Project category for launch of the WilliamsWarn Personal Brewery.

 The top honours were shared with Louis Brown and Daniel O'Regan for their work with the Student Army helping to clean up Christchurch after last year's earthquake.

The judges praised Porter Novelli for innovative use of social media, and generating significant outcomes for WilliamsWarn on a small budget.

The Rt Hon Dame Jenny Shipley is a former Prime Minister of New Zealand and today is a Director, Advisor and Keynote Speaker with a special interest in mega trends in business, economic and social development opportunities globally.

She was Prime Minister from 97 to 99 and in the preceding 7 years she was a Senior Minister in the New Zealand Government and a driving force in the successful decade of economic and social reforms in NZ. She retired form NZ politics in 2002 and has since established a very successful new career.

Jenny is now an Independent director of China Construction Bank, in 2009 the second largest Bank in the world by market cap. She is Chairman of Senior Money International. She also chairs Mainzeal Construction and is a Director of its parent, Richina Pacific which owns the China based SLC and SRL, a major property and leather cluster of businesses in Shanghai. She is a Director of the HR company, Momentum.

She is a very regular visitor to China in her role as a director, a keynote speaker and in association with her consultancy. She has served on a number of advisory boards including the International Economic Advisory Board of the City of Rotterdam. She is an Initiator of the Education Forum for East Asia and a Director of the International Financial Forum, supporting both organizations when they hold events in Beijing annually.

Jenny works extensively around the world. She gives her time to a number of causes including working with former leaders as a member of the Club of Madrid and the World Women's Leaders Council. Both groups work in many countries, promoting democracy, the advancement of women and every aspect of social and economic improvement and progress. She is Patron of Basketball NZ and the NZ Heart Foundations "Go Red for Women" and has a Namibian Education Trust that supports a cluster of schools in Northern Namibia.
