Sarah Kennedy
Sarah has recently returned to NZ and has accepted the role as CEO of RD1, the rural retail chain owned by Fonterra. She has also completed a Sloan Fellowship at Sloan Business School (MIT), adding to a number of qualifications which include a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Distinction).
Originally qualifying and working as a Veterinary Surgeon, Sarah began specialising in nutrition and aquaculture and returned to University to study marketing, management and business finance.
Sarah has recently completed a Sloan Fellowship at Sloan Business School (MIT), adding to a number of qualifications which include starting with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science (Distinction).
Prior to undertaking her most recent challenge at Sloan, Sarah has held a number of senior executive positions in the Agri and Food Industries: including, General Manager at NRM NZ Ltd, Business Manager with Tegel Foods Limited, Chief Executive Officer with Healtheries NZ Ltd and Group Chief Executive Officer of Vitaco Health Ltd. During her time at Healtheries, Sarah drove significant business growth and oversaw the merger of Healtheries with Nutralife, doubling the size of the organization and increasing market share significantly in both New Zealand and Australia, along with taking the business into international markets.
Along with her executive roles, Sarah is also actively involved with a number of professional bodies and has held Board positions with: Global Women, IANZ NZ Ltd, Auckland University Business School and the Ministry of Science and Innovation.
Sarah has recently returned to NZ and has accepted the role as CEO of RD1, the rural retail chain owned by Fonterra. She is delighted to be back in New Zealand and to be back again working back in the farming sector.
