Thomas is the Chair of Deloitte New Zealand. Prior to this he served as the Firm’s Chief Executive for 10 years and before then the Firm’s Managing Tax Partner for 13 years.
Thomas is one of New Zealand’s leading tax advisors and he has led the provision of corporate tax advice for some of the country’s largest corporate organisations. He also sits on Deloitte’s Asia Pacific board and is on the board of the Wellington Regional Development Agency.
During his tenure as Chief Executive the Firm has materially enhanced the diversity of its leaders and now has more than 25% of partners being female, with a largely equal gender representation on both the Board and Management group. This is in addition to developing our successful Maori, Pasifika and China services groups, substantially comprising professionals from those ethnic backgrounds.
