Dame Patsy Reddy: Appointed Commander of The Royal Victorian Order

Inspiration is the best way to begin a new year, and our members are providing no shortage of this so far in 2022.

Today we celebrate our member The Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy, who has been appointed as a Commander of The Royal Victorian Order (CVO) in the United Kingdom’s New Years Honours.

The Royal Victorian Order is an order of chivalry that recognises the people who have served The Queen or the monarchy in a personal way and is given as a personal gift of the Sovereign.

As one of Global Women’s founding members and an honourary lifetime member, Dame Patsy Reddy’s career has seen her celebrate excellence and champion diverse advancement in all areas of life. Most recently, Dame Patsy has served as the New Zealand Governor General from 2016-2021. She was a major law firm’s first female partner, headed a major review of intelligence agencies, holds multiple directorships, and worked as a chief negotiator on the Treaty of Waitangi settlements.

She joins three of our members, who have also received New Years’ accolades this year, included in the New Zealand 2022 Honours List.
